Estimate your claim

Estimate your R&D Tax Incentive in two minutes.

A rough number to see if this is worth pursuing. When you are ready, we turn it into a substantiated claim backed by your real GitHub history.

Estimated R&D offset

~$130,500

Based on a 43.5% refundable offset for companies under $20M in turnover. Because this offset is refundable, you can receive it as cash even in a year you made a loss.

[ how the estimate works ]

The rates, in plain English.

43.5%

Under $20M turnover

A refundable offset of about 43.5% of eligible R&D spend: the 25% base rate plus an 18.5pp premium. Paid as cash if you are in a loss.

+ premium

$20M and over

A non-refundable offset at your company tax rate plus an intensity-based premium. It reduces tax payable and can be carried forward.

$20k

Minimum spend

You need at least $20,000 of eligible R&D activity in the year to lodge a claim at all.

Note

A straight word on the number

The 43.5% is the offset rate, not pure profit.

If you are profitable: you would already deduct R&D at the company tax rate, so the real extra benefit is the premium on top, the 18.5 points above the 25% base.

If you are pre-profit: you have no tax to reduce, so the whole refundable offset comes back as cash you would not otherwise receive.

Either way, it is a rough FY2026 estimate to help you decide, not tax advice, and not a calculation of your actual claim.
